Richard Bernard Graves, 72, a manager with IBM for 33 years, died
June 12 at Casey House hospice in Rockville of renal failure related to
heart disease. He lived in Gaithersburg.

Mr. Graves was born in Washington and graduated from
Coolidge High
School.
He served in the Air Force from 1953 to 1957 before joining IBM. He
was manager of security and support services with the Federal Systems
Division at IBM's Gaithersburg office until his retirement in 1991.

Mr. Graves, who lived in Silver Spring before moving to Gaithersburg,
was a Little League baseball coach in Wheaton in the 1960s and 1970s.

His marriage to Gloria D. Graves ended in divorce.

Survivors include his wife of 15 years, Janet Graves of Gaithersburg; two
children from his first marriage, Richard S. Graves of Tampa and Holly
Walther of Gambrills; and seven grandchildren.
