Robert Ginsburg

Robert Ginsburg, 73, a grants administrator with the National Institutes of Health, died Dec. 14 at Carroll Hospital Center in Westminster, Md., from kidney disease and diabetes complications. He lived in Mount Airy.
Mr. Ginsburg was born in Philadelphia and moved to Washington when he was 9. He was a graduate of  Woodrow Wilson Senior High School.
He served in the Marine Corps from 1950 to 1954, reaching the rank of sergeant, and received the Purple Heart after being wounded in Korea.
After graduating from American University in 1957, Mr. Ginsburg joined NIH. At his retirement in 1988, he was grants management officer for the National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research.
He lived in Rockville before moving to Mount Airy in 2001.
His marriage to Betty Ginsburg ended in divorce.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret Peggy Ginsburg of Mount Airy; three children from his first marriage, Franklin Ginsburg of Germantown, James Ginsburg of Shenandoah Junction, W.Va., and Trine Pernie of Harpers Ferry, W.Va.; a stepson, Scott Bochniak of Silver Spring; a sister; and eight grandchildren.
