Phyllis Harfield Ackerly


     Died peacefully at Sibley Memorial Hospital in
Washington, DC surrounded by family.

     She graduated from
Woodrow Wilson High
School
in Washington, DC. Attended West Hampton
College in Richmond, VA. A resident of the
Westchester in Washington, DC; she lived in DC
since 1994. Formerly of Birmingham, Michigan where
she was a Real Estate Broker for more than 20 years. While in Washington
she was supportive of The Kennedy Center, did volunteer work for
National Public Radio, and sold real estate in the District of Columbia.

     Wife of the late Bernard Ackerly. Mother of of Nancy Barton
(Terence) of Pinehurst, North Carolina and the late William Ackerly;
grandmother to Jennifer, of Pinehurst, NC, Andrew Barton (Rachel) of Los
Altos, CA and Matthew Barton (Liz) of Northfield, IL.; great grandmother
of Madelyn, Lily, Ryan, Natalie and Benji. Also survived by her companion
of 13 years, George Eagle.

     Memorial arrangements are pending for sometime in January at The
Westchester. Contributions may be made to the US Fund for Unicef.B
