Jon M. “Jack” Presley, 87, a dentist who practiced for more than 50
years, died Oct. 8 at the Maplewood Park Place retirement community in
Bethesda.
He had congestive heart failure, said his daughter Carol Ann Presley.
Jon Manning Presley, a native Washingtonian, was a graduate of Woodrow
Wilson High School.
After graduating in 1946 from Georgetown University with a dentistry
degree, Dr. Presley served in the Army dental corps for three years in
occupied Japan.
Returning to the United States, Dr. Presley ran a private dental practice
in downtown Washington until his retirement in 1999.
His memberships included the All Saints Episcopal Church in Chevy
Chase.
Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Marjorie Monroe Presley of
Bethesda; two daughters, Joan-Marie Evans of Cocoa Beach, Fla., and
Carol Ann Presley of Stowe, Vt.; four grandchildren; and two great-
grandchildren.
