John Beebe

John Beebe, 88, an aeronautical engineer for the Defense Department from the
late 1940s until his retirement in 1976, died March 26 at his home in White
Stone, on Virginia's Northern Neck, after a stroke.

Mr. Beebe, a native Washingtonian, graduated from
Woodrow Wilson High
School
in 1939 and received a bachelor's degree in engineering in 1943 from
Virginia Tech. He was an Army Air Forces veteran of World War II.

He moved to White Stone from Alexandria in 1977. He was a Mason.

Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Virginia Dawson Beebe of White Stone;
four children, Elizabeth Schlickenmaier of Vienna, Louisa Quesenberry of
Springfield, Virginia Veillette of Studley, Va., and John W. Beebe of
Bloomington, Minn.; and 10 grandchildren.
