Janet Burns McLean Anderson


     Jenet Burns McLean Anderson passed away
3 p.m. Monday, January 17, 2011 at The University
of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston,
Texas, surrounded by her family.

     Jennie was born March 21, 1954 in Beckley,
West Virginia, to parents Betty and Bob McLean. Her
father, Robert P. McLean survives her. She is also
survived by her husband, Mike Anderson, daughter,
Maggie, and sons, Robert and Thomas, all of Houston,
Texas; and sisters, Beth McLean McClure of Myrtle Beach and Anne
McLean Pearson of Denver, Colorado. She was the daughter-in law of
Libby Anderson and the late Ted Anderson. Jennie had several nieces and
nephews, all of whom survive.

     Jennie was a graduate of
Woodrow Wilson High School in the class
of 1972. She attended Sullins College, Bristol, Virginia, and was a 1976
Graduate of Virginia Tech with a Bachelor of Science degree.

     Jennie took great pleasure in brightening the day for everyone she met.
She is remembered for placing other people's interests ahead of her own.
She loved to read and travel. Jennie dedicated her life to her family and
friends. Just hearing her voice made people around her smile. She will be
sadly missed.

     Visitation will be held 11 a.m. Friday, January 21, 2011 at Beckley
Presbyterian Church, and the Memorial service will be held at noon at the
Church.

     Donations of Sympathy may be made to the Beckley Presbyterian
Church or to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure Breast Cancer Center.
