

James Frederick Fox Passed away on November 25, 2009 after a brief illness. Jim was born on May 20, 1947 to Frederick Francis Fox and
Virginia Ann (Copsey) Fox.
The family moved to Williamsport, PA and then to Washington D.C where Jim graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School in 1965.
The friendships developed during this time would continue throughout his life and many laughter-filled times were spent together.
Jim attended Pepperdine College and USC where he met Kathie (Moore). He moved to San Jose, CA and they were married in 1968.
While working for Kathie's father, he learned the real estate business especially property acquisition, sales, investments, and management.
He and Jerome Kozlowski founded Saratoga Capital, Inc. in 1971 focusing on investment partnerships. The two families became very close
over the years and remain dear friends today.
Daughter, Allison Ann was born in 1975 and the family moved to Los Gatos then Monte Sereno.
After the addition of partner W. M. Lyles Company of Fresno, CA, Saratoga Capital, Inc. evolved into the development, restoration and
rehabilitation of numerous properties in downtown San Jose including the Hotel DeAnza, New Century Commons, One North First Street,
Century Center and the Ste. Claire Building.
Jim's strong belief in contributing to a vibrant downtown San Jose was a long held passion of his. Jim took up golf and enjoyed playing the
many different courses with his lifetime friend, Gary Newman of Reston, VA.
The Kozlowski family's extraordinary love expressed during Jim's lifetime and recent illness has been a source of great comfort to his family.
Jim's quiet yet masterful and unassuming presence "with no fanfare please" is a testament to his inner strength, self-determination and his
unwavering self-confidence that anything is possible was awe-inspiring. He lived life to its fullest and had no regrets. Jim is survived by wife
and best friend Kathie and daughter Allison Ann (Fiene) of Burbank, CA; his sister JoDee Klemm of Tamarac, FL and John C. Fox of Coral
Gables, FL.; niece and nephews. A celebration of Jim's life will be held in January. Notice to follow.
