Jacqueline Lee Hastings Dudley

Jacqueline H. Dudley, 83, a retired speech therapist who began her career
as an actress at the Arena Stage theater, died May 19 at the Fauquier Health
Rehabilitation facility in Warrenton. She had been an Alexandria resident for
many years before moving to Warrenton in 2006.

Mrs. Dudley appeared in several Arena Stage productions of the early
1950s. After earning a master's degree in speech-language pathology from
George Washington University in 1966, she opened a private speech therapy
practice. She retired in 1995.

Jacqueline Lee Hastings, a native of New Haven, Conn., was a 1944
graduate of
Wilson High School. She was a 1948 graduate of the
University of Maryland. From 1967 to 1972, she taught speech-language
classes at George Washington University.

Her husband of 33 years, Dana Dudley, died in 1981.

Survivors include three children, Justin Dudley of Oak Hill, Va., Lisa Welch
of Warrenton and Nina Dudley of Easthampton, Mass.; a sister, Jo Anne
Roberts of Ashburn; and four grandchildren.
