Glenn Woodward Thomas

2010

Glenn Woodward "Woody" Thomas passed into the spiritual world on
Saturday, July 3, 2010, at his home in Las Cruces, N.M.

He was born April 5, 1947, in Washington, D.C., to Leslie Earle Thomas
and Richard Ogden Thomas. He grew up in the D.C. area, graduating from
Wilson High School. He went on to attend New Mexico State University,
majoring in biology and art, where he received a Bachelor of Arts degree in
1971.

He worked at the Corcoran Gallery of Art and The Smithsonian Institution
Portrait Gallery for several years. He later signed on with Design and
Production Co., where he became a museum specialist. He traveled the
world completing many museum installations.

His work was his passion; however, his family was his life. His greatest
pleasures were boating, fishing and model trains.

He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Odgen Thomas, and
brother Ronald Stedman Thomas.

He is survived by his mother, Leslie Earle Nicholson, of Pasadena, Calif.,
brother Richard Earle Thomas of Brookings, Ore.; and his wife, Judith
Marie Thomas of Las Cruces; his daughters, Angelita Marie Thomas, and
husband Mathew Donald Martin of Edgewater, Md., Merry Elizabeth Earle
Thomas and husband Michael Robert Otto of Stafford County and one
grandchild, Carter Stedman Otto.

It can truly be said that we have known a man who was a friend of many
and an enemy of none.

The Circle;

All is a circle within me.
I am ten thousand winters old.
I am as young as a newborn flower.
I am a buffalo in its grave.
I am a tree in bloom.
All is a circle within me.
I have seen the world through an eagle's eye.
I have seen it from a gopher's hole.
I have seen the world on fire and the sky without a moon.
All is a circle within me.
I have gone into the earth and out again.
I have gone to the edge of the sky.
Now all is at peace within me.
Now all has a place to come home.
