David Burrell Thompson Sr.








DAVID BURRELL THOMPSON, SR. (Age 73) Passed away after a
courageous battle with brain cancer for the last three years on July 17, 2010.

He was born in Washington DC, graduated from
Wilson High School and
American University in Washington DC.

Dave moved to Jacksonville three years ago from Alexandria, VA.

He was retired from the Federal Government Department of Navy after
serving 35 years in the civil service.

Dave was a member of the Elks Club, a former president of the Capital
Classics Chevy Club, and volunteered for many other organizations.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Oco and Helen Thompson.
Survivors include his loving wife of 46 years, Elsie; son, David B.
Thompson, Jr. of Colorado Springs, CO; daughter, Susan J. Severson and
her husband, Ed of Jacksonville; and three grandchildren, Amanda and
Heather of Jacksonville, and Tanner of Colorado Springs.

A celebration gathering in honor of Dave''s life will be held from 5 to 8 p.m.
Tuesday, July 20, 2010, at Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home, 1701 Beach
Blvd., Jacksonville Beach.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Community
Hospice McGraw Center of Northeast Florida, 4715 Worrall Way,
Jacksonville, FL 32224.
