Carolyn L. Post Rimmer

Carolyn Post Rimmer, 83, a secretary for the U.S. Department of Transportation, died May 21 of pulmonary disease at the Village
at Penn State retirement home in State College, Pa.
Mrs. Rimmer lived in University Park for 51 years and worked for the federal government during the 1970s. She volunteered for
the American Association of University Women, Adelphi Presbyterian Church, the Birdwatchers' Club of Riderwood Village and
the OASIS Club of Prince George's Plaza. She enjoyed tutoring reading students in Prince George's County schools.
She was a member of the Alpha Xi Delta Women's Fraternity for 60 years.
She was born Carolyn Lucille Post in Brookings, S.D., and moved to Washington as a child. Mrs. Rimmer graduated from
Woodrow Wilson High School and George Washington University.
Her husband, James Stephen Rimmer, died in 1990.
Survivors include three children, Susan Margolis and Thomas Rimmer, both of State College, and James E. Rimmer of Erie,
Pa.; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
