Allen Johnson Nylen, 66, who owned a real estate title company in Maryland for about 40 years, died May 14 of cancer at his
home in Olney.
Mr. Nylen was born in Washington and graduated from the old Woodward Wilson High School in the District. He served in the
Marine Corps for four years, then graduated from the University of Maryland.
Mr. Nylen worked in his father's law office, learning the real estate title business before establishing his own firm, Real Estate
Title Services Inc., in the mid-1960s. At the time of his death, he had offices in Rockville, Frederick and Washington County, Md.
He had lived in Olney since 1970 and was a member of the Chesapeake Yacht Club.
Survivors include his wife of 39 years, Sandra A. Nylen of Olney; two children, Edward A. Nylen of Frederick and Christine M. Platt
of Urbana; his father, Edward W. Nylen of University Park; and a sister.
