Albert Edward Klopfer

Albert Edward Klopfer, 79, who worked in the auto business in the Washington area throughout his life, died of a stroke April 5 at
Heartland Hospice in Atlanta. He lived in McLean.
Mr. Klopfer retired as general manager of Ourisman Motors in Marlow Heights in 1989. He previously owned the Wire Wheel, a
used-import-auto agency in Ballston. He also had owned and operated Klopfer Motors in Fairfax County with family members.
He formerly worked for Gladding Chevrolet in Glen Burnie.
Born in Washington, he graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School and attended American University. He was an avid
Washington Redskins fan and a jazz buff.
His marriage to Mary Ann Klopfer ended in divorce.
Survivors include three children, Melissa Klopfer of Columbus, Ga., Carolyn Polakowski of Marietta, Ga., and Albert Klopfer Jr. of
Falls Church; a sister, Elaine Klopfer Bennett of Sumner; and seven grandchildren.
