Ann Pauline Beyer Mooney, age 75, passed away peacefully on
September 21, 2011 at her residence in Hollywood, Florida. She was a
resident of Broward County since 1968.
Ann was born on September 8, 1936 in Washington D.C. to parents
Brooke and Mildred Beyer. She was preceded in death by her parents,
brothers, Robert Velati Beyer (Bobby) and Dr. Brooke Anthony Beyer
(Tony). She is survived by her bother William Louis Beyer (Timmy) (Joan);
son Edward Velati Mooney (Kathleen); grandsons Michael and Brian and
many nieces and nephews.
Ann attended the Sacred Heart Academy and Woodrow Wilson High
School.
At the age of 18 she became a fashion model for the Frank R. Jeleffs
Stores in Maryland, Virginia and Washington D.C. During the rush of the
holidays, Ann would help out at the family business, the Original Velati's,
located on 9th and G street NW. It was run by her father, Brooke and
brothers, Bobby and Timmy.
Ann enjoyed long walks, needlepoint, rock-n-roll, dancing and telling
old stories of her amazing family.
A special thank you to the staff at Meadowbrook Retirement Home
(Audrianna, Trisha, Lerlynn, Joan and Suzette). All of whom for 10 years
showed Ann an enormous amount of care and compassion. A heartfelt
thank you to Hospice Care for their tremendous efforts and loving care.
A private family service will be held at a later date.
