William N. Johnson

William Noble Johnson, 82, a native Washingtonian who became a manager with Ingersoll-Rand, an industrial engineering
company, died Jan. 8 at a hospital hospice in Boynton Beach, Fla. He had a seizure disorder and neck cancer.
Mr. Johnson was a 1941 graduate of  Western High School, where he was senior class president, and a 1943 graduate of Yale
University.
He served on Navy submarines in the Pacific during World War II and was a Navy veteran of the Korean War.
He spent his career away from the Washington area with Ingersoll-Rand. Among his assignments was general manager for the
company in London. He retired from the New Jersey office around 1980 and moved to Boynton Beach.
Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Kathleen Kuldell Johnson of Boynton Beach; four daughters, Sandra Johnson of Boynton
Beach, Kristin Johnson of Telluride, Colo., Barbara Johnson of Portland, Ore., and Judith Heller of Quincy, Mass.; a sister, Alice
Miller of Annapolis; and five grandchildren.
