
WAYNE ELLIOTT DORMAN, Of Chevy Chase, Maryland on July 1,
2011. Devoted and beloved husband of Nancy Robinson Dorman for 66
years; beloved father of Nancy Lee Dorman and her husband, Stanley
Mazaroff of Baltimore, MD, Steven W. Dorman and his wife, Vicki H.
Dorman of Potomac, MD and Ray R. Dorman and his wife, Shannon W.
Dorman of Orlando, FL; dear brother of Parker S. Dorman, the late
Hamilton P. Dorman and the late Barclay N. Dorman; loving grandfather of
Carolyn, Catherine, Chelsea, Sabrina and Stephanie Dorman and Melissa
Dorman Caswell and her husband, T. J. Caswell; loving great-grandfather to
Blake Thomas Caswell.
A native Washingtonian, Wayne was an Eagle Scout and graduated
from Western High School and Amherst College. He enlisted in the U. S.
Navy during World War II serving on destroyers in the Pacific theater;
followed by a long and successful business career principally in Washington,
DC.
Active with the American Cancer Society and Kiwanis of Washington;
he was an enthusiastic sailor and fisherman.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, July 7 at 3 p.m. at Chevy
Chase Presbyterian Church, One Chevy Chase Circle, NW, Washington,
DC, followed by a cocktail party at Columbia Country Club, 7900
Connecticut Avenue, Chevy Chase.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer
Society , South Atlantic Division, 1875 Connecticut Avenue, NW, Suite
730, Washington, DC 20009.
