Sharon Russell Deane, 62, who was an administrative assistant with two federal agencies, died Aug. 31 of a heart attack at the
Specialty Hospital of Washington. She lived in the District.
Ms. Deane was born in Washington and graduated from Western High School in 1963. After attending Howard University, she
spent 27 years with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and later with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. She
retired after a stroke in 2000.
Ms. Deane was a lifelong member of St. George's Episcopal Church in Washington and served for many years as coordinator of
Christian education and as a member of the vestry.
Survivors include two sons from different relationships, Andre Robert Deane of Washington and Darren Marbley of Upper
Marlboro; a sister; and a granddaughter.
