Paul Morrison Denny, 79, 2005 a mortgage banker, died of an intracranial hemorrhage Jan. 10 at Inova Fairfax Hospital.
Mr. Denny, a native Washingtonian, graduated from Western High School and was drafted into the Navy during World War II. He served in
the Pacific theater.
After his Navy service, he graduated from George Washington University. He began his mortgage banking career at W.R. Kelly Co. in the
District. By the mid-1960s, he started his own firm, Provident Mortgage Corp. He moved the firm to Springfield in 1968, and operated it until
retiring in the late 1970s.
Mr. Denny was a golfer and a longtime supporter of the Washington Redskins. He had served on the board of Washington Federal Savings
Loan.
Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Donna Denny of Alexandria; three daughters, Diane Denny of Laramie, Wyo., Susan Denny of
Springfield and Barbara Denny of San Mateo, Calif.; and a brother.
