Neil L. Halliday Jr., 60, a former vice president of the American Diabetes Association in Alexandria, died Nov. 22 at his home in
Dallas. He had bladder cancer. Mr. Halliday was an assistant controller for Xerox in Rochester, N.Y., before joining the American
Diabetes Association in the mid-1980s as vice president of administrative and information services.
He was a Washington resident before moving in 2000 to Dallas, where he had been vice president of information technology for
the American Heart Association.
Neil Lilburn Halliday Jr. was born in Lexington, Ky., and raised in Washington, where he was a 1966 graduate of Western High
School.
In 1971, he received a bachelor's degree in management from Northeastern University in Boston, and he later received a
master's degree in finance and investments from George Washington University.
He graduated from the Coast Guard Academy in New London, Conn., and served from 1972 to 1979, attaining the rank of
lieutenant commander.

His marriage to Linda Bodie Halliday ended in divorce.
Survivors include his wife of 20 years, Donna Malbroue Halliday of Dallas; a son from his first marriage, Neil L. Halliday III of
Rochester; a daughter from his second marriage, Nicole Halliday of Dallas; a sister, Antoinette Schooler of Washington; and
two grandsons.
