Marian V. Bohrer, 90, a secretary with the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration from 1974
until the early 1990s, died Dec. 28 at Holy Cross Hospital of congestive heart failure. She was a Silver Spring
resident.
Mrs. Bohrer was also a census taker five times, beginning in 1950.
Marian Salome Voshall was born in Birmingham, Ala., and raised in Washington. She graduated from Western
High School in 1936 and earned an associate's degree in business administration from what is now Strayer
University in the District.
She was a member of St. Luke Lutheran Church in Silver Spring and volunteered in the Lutheran Home gift shop in
Rockville.
Her marriage to Chalma Clayton Bohrer ended in divorce.
Survivors include a son, Richard Clayton Bohrer of Chevy Chase; and two grandchildren.
