Kathleen M. Harrison, 89, a volunteer in the 1960s and 1970s with the National Symphony Orchestra and what is now the
Virginia Hospital Center, died May 5 at her home in Richmond after a stroke.

Kathleen Doris Moore, a native Washingtonian, graduated from
Western High School in 1935. She was a secretary for
an aircraft manufacturer in Long Beach, Calif., during World War II.

She was a member of Clarendon United Methodist Church in Arlington and spent time with the elderly members who were
unable to attend church. She moved to Richmond from Arlington in 2004.

Her husband of 55 years, Thomas R Harrison Sr., died in 1995.

Survivors include two children, Carol H. Beasley of Mechanicsville, Va., and Thomas R. Harrison Jr. of Arlington; a sister;
three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
