Jean Buckingham Leonberger, 93, who taught preschool in the 1960s at Bradley Hills Presbyterian Church in Bethesda, died of a heart
ailment July 26 at Hawthorne House nursing home in Freeport, Maine.
Mrs. Leonberger, who moved to Maine from the District about five years ago, was a native Washingtonian and a graduate of Western
High School and Wilson Teachers College. Her memberships included Chevy Chase Presbyterian Church and the Suburban Woman's
Club of Montgomery County.
Her husband, Albert B. Leonberger Jr., whom she married in 1947, died in 1992.
Survivors include a daughter, Meredith Janarelli of Yarmouth, Maine; and three grandchildren.
