Hugh Victor Keever McCabe, 81, a commercial real estate agent, died of congestive heart failure March 29, 2006 at his home in Reston.
In the 1950s and '60s, Mr. McCabe worked for 13 years as district manager for Jefferson Standard Life Insurance Co. in Arlington. He then
opened a commercial real estate business in Northern Virginia. From 1983 until he retired in 1989, he worked for the Baltimore real estate
firm of O'Connor, Piper Flynn.
He was born in Morristown, N.J., and moved to the District as a youth. He graduated from Western High School and attended George
Washington University. He served in the Navy in the Pacific theater during World War II.
He lived in Washington until moving to Baltimore in 1985. He returned to the Washington area in 2001.
His marriages to Patricia Cook and Carol LeVarn ended in divorce. His companion of 25 years, Eleanor Woodson O'Neil, died in 2001.
Survivors include a daughter from his first marriage, Martha Garison of San Antonio; two daughters from his second marriage, Meghan
McCabe of Kuwait and Caitlin Vargas-Cissel of Reston; and two grandchildren.
