Harry White Williamson Jr., 90, a retired Washington dentist and longtime legal aid volunteer in Northern Virginia, died Aug. 28 of septicemia
at Virginia Hospital Center in Arlington County. He was an Arlington resident.

He was born in Cleveland and moved to the Washington area in 1927. After graduating from
Western High School in 1937, he received his
bachelor's degree from George Washington University in 1941 and his dental degree from Georgetown University in 1944. He was an Army
captain during World War II, serving in both the Atlantic and Pacific theaters. In the Pacific, he served as a dental officer with a MASH unit.
He also served in occupied Japan immediately after the war.

He opened his practice in downtown Washington in 1946 and remained until his retirement in 1979. He also taught at Georgetown University
Dental School in the late 1970s.

In college, Dr. Williamson had considered going to law school, and he remained interested in legal issues his whole life. From 1982 to 2002,
he was a volunteer paralegal with Legal Services of Northern Virginia, where he helped clients with medical claims. He was a member of the
Civil War Roundtable and the Washington Dental Club.

Dr. Williamson's marriage to Jean Orem Williamson ended in divorce.

Survivors include his wife of 37 years, Ramona "Mona" Forinas Williamson of Arlington; three children from the first marriage, Karen
Williamson Lepping of Davidsonville, Jay Williamson of Santa Rosa, Calif., and Neil Williamson of Greenbelt; and two grandchildren.
