Francis P. Curtin, 84, who spent 42 years at what became First American
Bank of Washington and retired in 1988 as a senior vice president of retail
banking, died Jan. 12 at his home in Rockville. He had Alzheimer's disease.
Mr. Curtin was a past first vice president of the Georgetown chapter of Big
Brothers and member of the D.C. Chamber of Commerce.
Francis Patrick Curtin was born in Washington and attended Western High
School before his Navy service in the Pacific during World War II.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Louise Haddad Curtin of Rockville;
four children, Patrick F. Curtin of Rockville, Marlene R. Stamm of Bel Air,
Md., Laura C. Steinke of Lancaster, Pa., and Daniel J. Curtin of Highland;
and nine grandchildren.
