Edward Gulager Fenwick Jr.

EDWARD GULAGER FENWICK, JR. (Age 83) Of Virginia Beach, passed
away May 16, 2010 in Virginia Beach General Hospital.

Born February 22, 1927 in Washington DC, he attended Swanee Military
Academy for two years, then graduated from
Western High School in
D.C.
in 1946. He got his B.A. in History from University of VA., got his
Masters in Foreign Affairs from American University and his Law Degree
from George Washington University.

Ed served briefly in the Navy during WWII. He practiced law at Mason,
Fenwick and Lawrence which his father had founded. Ed practiced
trademark, copyright and patent law in Washington until his retirement.

He was a member of Baylake United Methodist Church, the Rotary Club in
Arlington, VA and was a trustee for Christ Crossman United Methodist
Church in Arlington, VA.

Ed, affectionately known as "Bucky" loved to read and was a walking
encyclopedia of historical facts. In his younger years, Bucky loved to fish
and enjoy time in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware.

His Church and family were integral parts of his life. He will be missed by all
who knew him. May he rest in peace.

Ed was predeceased by his beloved wife, Dorothea Vanderslice Fenwick and
is survived by two brother-in-laws, Samuel P. Vanderslice III and wife
Kathy of Elizabeth City, NC and Frank Myers of Manassas, VA and
relatives, Cathy Combs and husband Michael of Virginia Beach, Margie
Turner and husband Larry of Crowley, TX, Samuel P. Vanderslice IV and
wife Latricia of Virginia Beach, Jennifer Davis of Elizabeth City, NC, Janice
Kent, Kris Jameson of Charlotte, NC, Bryan Lipscomb and wife Lisa and a
host of other nieces and nephews who loved him dearly.

A funeral service will be conducted Tuesday, May 18 at 11 a.m. at Baylake
United Methodist Church with Rev. Burt Brooks officiating. A graveside
service will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. at Oakwood Cemetery in Arlington,
VA with Rev. Mochel Morris officiating.

Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society .
