Catherine Coulon Walleigh, 90, a former resident of Bethesda, where she was a past president of the Springfield Garden Club and did
volunteer work at Little Falls Library, died March 31 at a daughter's home in Rockville. She had leukemia.
Mrs. Walleigh was a native Washingtonian, a 1933 graduate of  Western High School and a 1937 graduate of Wilson Teachers College.
Early in her career, she taught at preschools and was a substitute teacher in suburban Maryland.
She won several bridge tournaments.
Her husband, Robert S. Walleigh, whom she married in 1938, died in 1999.
Survivors include two daughters, Catherine Carnevale of Rockville and Margaret Shaffer of Kensington; four grandchildren; and two
great-grandchildren.
