Date of Passing: September 24, 2009

Harry Edward Kallas, 78, an 11-year resident of Gambrills and previously of Lanham, died Sept. 24 at his home.

Born May 13, 1931, in Washington, D.C., he served in the
Army during the Korean War. Mr. Kallas was a former minor league baseball player, and was a member of the American Legion, Post 7 in
Crownsville.

He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Rita E. Kallas; three sons, Thomas Kallas of Bunker Hill, W.Va., Edward Kallas of Gaithersburg and
Charles Kallas of Hanover; two brothers, Bill Kallas of Laurel and Bob Kallas of Easton; and two grandsons, Galen and Patrick Kallas.

Friends are invited to Harry's Life Celebration from 1 to 3 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Sept. 28 at George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973
Solomons Island Rd., Edgewater. A graveside service will be held at 10:45 a.m. Tuesday at Maryland Veterans Cemetery, 1122 Sunrise
Beach Rd., Crownsville.

Eastern High in DC.........
