Thomas E. Marcos Sr., 86, a Prince George's County restaurateur who
co-owned and operated the Ledo Restaurant and Fireside Beef House, died Oct.
22 at his home in Bowie.
Mr. Marcos was a Prince George's County deputy sheriff before going into the

They started Ledo, an Italian restaurant in Adelphi, followed several years later by

They sold their interest in the businesses to other family members many decades
later. It was that next generation of owners who created the Ledo pizza franchise.

Technical High School. He served in the Army Air Forces in the
China-Burma-India theater during World War II.
He was a lifetime member of the American Legion and the University of

athletic scholarships. He was a past president of the Terrapin Club.
His other memberships included Ascension Catholic Church in Bowie.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Eileen Lancaster Marcos of Bowie; four
children, Sherry Costello of Annapolis, and Marilyn Nalley, Thomas Marcos Jr.
and James Marcos, all of Bowie; a sister, Janice Darrow of Glenn Dale; and 13
grandchildren.
