 Sylvia J. Williams was born July 11, 1939, in Washington,
D.C. She was the daughter of the late Wallace and Mary C.
Burnett.

 She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward L.
Williams; a son, Rodney Williams; a daughter, Deborah L. Bushrod; and a
son-in-law, Arthur Bushrod II.

 Sylvia grew up in Washington and attended D.C. public schools. She graduated
from
McKinley Tech High School and attended Bowie State University, where
she received her B.S. and M.S. degrees.

 She retired from the Prince George's County public school system in Maryland,
after teaching for over 30 years.

 Sylvia was drum major for justice. She was a lifelong member of the National
Association for the Advancement of Colored People. She served as a board
member of the Virginia State Conference, NAACP.

 Sylvia leaves to mourn and cherish her memory a granddaughter, Amara E.
Bushrod, and a grandson, Arthur W. Bushrod III, both of King George;
great-grandsons Alaijah W. and Aiden M. Bushrod, both of Westmoreland; an
aunt, Edna M. Hardmon of Washington, D.C.; sons Jeffrey T. Robinson (Kim)
of Richmond, William C. Nelson Jr. (Sport) of Richmond and Melvin Kyle
(Bertha) of Roanoke; in-laws Arthur and IdaBell Bushrod of King George;
dedicated friend William "Mr. Bill" Jones of Westmoreland; and a host of family
and friends.

 A funeral will be held Saturday, Jan. 29, at noon at Salem Baptist Church, King
George. Interment will be in the church cemetery.

 A viewing will be held Friday, Jan. 28, from 6 to 8 p.m. At Salem Baptist
Church. During this time, the family will be receiving visitors.

 Services will be provided by Lee Funeral Home, King George
