Rosalie Ann Yurko McQuade

Rosalie Ann McQuade, 79, a longtime secretary at Walter Reed Army Medical Center, died April 3 at her home in
Wheaton. She had chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.

Mrs. McQuade worked at Walter Reed from 1963 until 2001, when she retired from the Armed Forces Institute of
Pathology at the hospital.

Rosalie Ann Yurko was born in Pittsburgh and moved to the Washington area in 1940. She graduated from
McKinley
Technical High School
and then worked for Pan American World Airways as a flight attendant for several years. After
a short period living in Pensacola, Fla., where she worked for a bank, she returned to the Washington area in 1963 and
became a secretary at Walter Reed.

Her marriage to Theodore McQuade ended in divorce.

Survivors include a son, Theodore McQuade Jr. of Wheaton, and two grandchildren.
