MALINDA KIENY NORFORD Malinda K. Norford, 86, of Marshall, VA, at her
home on Sunday, August 29, 2010.
She was born on May 15, 1924, in Pittsburgh, PA, to Zella Stairs and Charles
Kieny. Mrs. Norford was a graduate of McKinley Technical High School,
attended the University of Maryland and completed secretarial training at Woods
Stenography School.
She was employed by the United Federation of Post Office Clerks. She married
Nelson K. Norford on October 12, 1946, and together they raised four children.
In 1975 they retired to a mountain farm near Lexington, VA. That was their home
until 1999 when they moved to Marshall, VA. Mrs. Norford is survived by her
husband, Nelson K. Norford, son Leslie K. Norford of Lexington, MA, son
Lawrence C. Norford of Ellicott City, MD, daughter Lisa Ascunce of Vienna, VA,
daughter Lori Bakewell of Warrenton, VA, and nine grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 25 at 3 p.m. at the
Warrenton United Methodist Church, 341 Church St., Warrenton, VA.
