

EVELYN INGELS KELLY (Age 91) Of Silver Spring, MD, passed peacefully at
Montgomery General Hospital on Thursday, May 27, 2010.
She is survived by her loving husband of 67 years, Harold Paul "Ace" Kelly, by
son, Dennis Paul Kelly and wife, Suzanna, daughter, Carolyn Kelly McGowan and
husband, Jeffrey, of Gaithersburg, MD, four grandchildren, Michael Sean Kelly
and wife, Lisa, of Greensboro NC, Craig Brandon Kelly and wife, Meron, of
Atlanta, GA., Kelly Ann McGowan of Blacksburg, VA, and Ryan Jeffrey
McGowan of Gaithersburg, MD, and two great-granddaughters, Cara and Seana
Kelly of Greensboro, NC.
By her request, no funeral services are planned. The family held a small gathering
to celebrate her life on Saturday, May 29, 2010.
Evelyn was born and educated in Washington, DC, graduating from McKinley
Technology High School and Strayer Business College.
During World War II she supervised the distribution of war ration books for the
state of Massachusetts. She worked for the Department of Interior in both its
Bureaus of Land Management and Indian Affairs, retiring in 1979 to south Florida
for the next 25 years, before returning to Montgomery County in 2004.
She was a past president of the Delta Chapter of Beta Mu National Sorority and
held several offices in the National Association of Retired Federal Employees in
south Florida.
