Elizabeth Wintrich Holmberg

Elizabeth Fealy Wintrich Holmberg, 84, a homemaker and bookkeeper, died of cancer May 12 at her home in Rockville.
Mrs. Holmberg, a native Washingtonian, graduated from McKinley Tech High School and attended a year of business college. She was a
secretary at O'Boyle Tank Lines during World War II, then married and moved to Wheaton in 1952.
She worked outside the home throughout her life, first as a bookkeeper for Suburban Trust Bank, then as an administrator in the city of
Rockville's water department and later at First Maryland Bank. She retired in 1983.
She was a charter member of St. Catherine Labouré Catholic Church in Wheaton. As a member of a large family, she enjoyed gatherings
with her four sisters and 28 first cousins and their families. She also enjoyed baseball and the Washington Redskins.
Her marriage to Fred Wintrich ended in divorce. Her second husband, Harry Holmberg, died in 1973.
Survivors include two sons, Fred Wintrich of South Riding and John Wintrich of Middletown, Md.; two sisters, Margaret Dugan of Columbus,
Ohio, and Mary Morris of Olney; three grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
