Dolores Marie Aikman, 84, who retired as a secretary from the Federal Trade Commission in 1988, died Aug. 1 of cardiac arrest
at Prince George's Hospital Center. She was a resident of Mount Rainier for 33 years.
She was born in Washington and graduated from McKinley Technical High School. She married and moved in 1948 to
Indianapolis, where she lived for two different intervals for 18 years.
In the 1970s, she worked as a secretary for the Treasury Department. She spent about five years with the FTC.
Her marriage to Harold Burton ended in divorce.
Her second husband, John Marvin Aikman, died in 1973.
Survivors include two children from her second marriage, Carole Aikman of Alexandria and Paul Aikman of Mount Rainier; and a
sister, Catherine Toms of Silver Spring.
