Charline K. Coakley, 80, who spent many years as a government procurement
officer, died May 4 of lung cancer at home in Bethesda.
Mrs. Coakley was a contracting officer with the Navy, Federal Aviation
Administration and Peace Corps before her retirement in 1975.
Charline Kelser was born in Washington and graduated from McKinley High
School in 1947.
She was a member of Kenwood Golf and Country Club in Bethesda, where she sat
on the board of governors and the executive committee. She was a former
chairman of the Kenwood Women's Golf Association. She also enjoyed playing
bridge.
Her husband of nine years, David Coakley, died in 1959.
Survivors include a daughter, Beverly Grubbs of Frederick, and two grandchildren.
