Bertha Babinski Mindel, 97, a former bookkeeper who later became a homemaker, died March 27 of pulmonary failure at her
home at Leisure World in Silver Spring.
Mrs. Mindel was born in Southwest Washington and was a 1927 graduate of McKinley Technical High School. After attending a
secretarial school, she was a bookkeeper for several years with Ceres restaurant in downtown Washington.
Mrs. Mindel was a member of Ohr Kodesh Congregation in Chevy Chase. She was an accomplished cook and painter.
Survivors include her husband of 75 years, Saul J. Mindel of Silver Spring; two sons, Larry Mindel of Madison, Wis., and Roger
Mindel of Silver Spring; a sister, Rose Berg of Rockville; and three grandchildren.
