Assunta 'Sue'  Varriale Vasaio

Assunta Sue Varriale Vasaio, 82, who had co-owned and operated A.V. Ristorante Italiano in Northwest Washington since 1949, died Oct.
14 at her home in Falls Church. She had cancer.
Mrs. Vasaio was a native Washingtonian and attended McKinley Technical High School. She and her second husband, Augusto Vasaio,
started the restaurant. After his death in 1982, she ran it with two sons and, much later, a grandson.
Her first marriage, to Michael Di Bari, ended in divorce.
Survivors include two children from her first marriage, John Di Bari of Upper Marlboro and Linda Parker of Locust Grove, Va.; three children
from her second marriage, Maria Elena Vasaio of Rome, August Vasaio of Washington and Edward Vasaio of Richmond; a brother, Andrew
Varriale of Silver Spring; and eight grandchildren.
2005
