Ann T. Wall, 81, a retired first-grade teacher at Hillandale Elementary School in Silver Spring, died April 29 at her home
in Silver Spring. She had breast cancer.

Mrs. Wall was born Ann Catherine Taylor in Orlando and grew up in Washington. She graduated from
McKinley High
School,
where she performed in theatrical productions. She sang a solo at Washington National Cathedral while in high
school.

In 1949, she graduated from the old Wilson Teachers College and taught in D.C. public schools before moving to
Montgomery County in the 1950s. She retired from teaching in 1964 to raise her family.

She was a past member of First Baptist Church in Wheaton, where she taught Sunday school.

Survivors include her husband of 47 years, Lester Ray Wall, of the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in the District; three
children, Margaret Fadler of Crofton, Bob Wall of Grand Junction, Colo., and Barbara Cloues of Oviedo, Fla; and two
grandsons.
