John R. Luscomb (1927 - 2013)

ONEIDA >> John R. Luscomb, 86, of Mt. Hope Avenue, died Tuesday, Sept.
17, 2013 in Oneida Healthcare Center, where he had been a patient for the past
two days.

Born in Washington, DC on March 10, 1927, he was the son of John R. and
Adelia Shaw Luscomb. John was a resident of this area since 1947 and was a
graduate of
McKinley Technical High School, Washington, DC.

He married Jeanette Saamer on Sept. 12, 1953 in St. Francis Church, Durhamville.

Prior to his retirement John was employed with the Madison County Highway
Department and formerly was employed by Jack's Tasty Snacks. He was of the
Christian faith and a veteran of World War II, serving in the United States Navy
Seabees in the Pacific Theatre.

Surviving are, his wife, Jeannette; one daughter and son-in-law, Tracey A. and
Thomas Griffith of Oneida; three sons and daughters-in-law, John R. and
Constance Luscomb of Munnsville, Jodi R. and Mika Luscomb of Seattle, Wash.,
and Jarl R. and Collette Luscomb of Kimble, England; three grandchildren,
Victoria, Aaron and Alexandra Griffith and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Friday, Oct. 4, 2013, from the family plot at
St. Helena's Cemetery, with the Rev. Juel Luscomb, his cousin, officiating.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Campbell-Dean Funeral Home, Inc.,
