Robert Edward Tolson Jr., 80, a pediatrician in private practice in Bethesda from 1960 until his retirement in 1995, died
March 27 of congestive heart failure at ManorCare nursing home in Bethesda.
Dr. Tolson, a native of Washington, graduated from St. John's College High School in 1946. He received a
bachelor's degree from Northwestern University in 1952 and a medical degree from Vanderbilt University in Nashville in
1956.
He had been a Rockville resident since the mid-1960s.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Dolores A. Tolson of Rockville; three daughters, Anne T. Hoskinson of Bethesda,
Barbara Kirkpatrick of Rockville and Susan T. Rivkin of Los Angeles; a brother; and three grandchildren.
