Richard A. Musolino

Richard A. Musolino, 59, who co-owned and operated Village Pump Liquors in College Park in the 1970s and
1980s, died Jan. 15 at Duke University Medical Center in Durham, N.C. He had congestive heart failure.
Village Pump Liquors was a former gas station in College Park owned by Mr. Musolino's parents and which they
converted to a liquor store in the early 1970s. Shortly thereafter, Mr. Musolino came to serve as its proprietor.
In 1988, he moved from the Washington area to North Carolina, where he took reservations at an American
Airlines call center until retiring in 1996.
Richard Anthony Musolino was a native Washingtonian, a 1967 graduate of  St. John's College High School in
Washington and a 1971 philosophy and religion graduate of Marquette University in Milwaukee. In 1972, he
received a master's degree in legal studies from Villanova University in Pennsylvania.
Survivors include his wife of 20 years, Virginia Katherine Hicks "Katy" Musolino, and two children, Emily
Musolino and John Musolino, all of Durham.
