Melville B. "TIM" COX, JR., age 67, of Richmond, Texas, passed away
Wednesday, February 2, 2011.

He was born October 2, 1943, in Washington D.C., to Melville and Anna
"Lucille" Conley Cox.

Tim attended St. Anne's Catholic Elementary School and
St. John's Military
Academy High School
in Washington D.C. He graduated from the University of
Maryland in 1969 with a Business Degree in Marketing. Tim also attended Rice
University, completing a Management Program in the Jesse H. Jones Graduate
School of Administration.

He worked for the U.S. Government in Washington D.C. from 1963 to 1983,
working for the CIA in the Securities Exchange Commission. In 1983 he
transferred with the SEC to Denver, CO. After leaving the SEC in 1988, he joined
the private sector working for Integrated Resources in Denver.

He then took a position with Charles Schwab in San Francisco, CA, as their
Chief Compliance Officer. In 1992, Tim joined AIM Management in Houston, as
their Chief Compliance Officer. This experience was his most treasured
professional position of his career. He loved his work, the founders, and the many
peers and employees he had the pleasure and privilege of working with. In 2004,
Tim accepted a position with State Street Global Advisors in Boston, MA, where
he served as a Principal in their Compliance Department.

He remained there until 2007, when he retired and relocated back to the
Houston area. In his private life, Tim dedicated his time and love to his wife of
forty-five years, Margaret T. "Monie" Cox, and his three children, Jeffrey T. Cox,
Cassandra Cox McBryde, and Christopher P. Cox. In 1973,

Tim and a handful of friends formed the Potomac Valley Youth Association
(PVYA) in Frederick County, Brunswick, MD, offering local youth year round
sporting activities. He coached approximately thirty-seven seasons of soccer with
all three of his children, and was much loved by his teams and parents. He
continued his coaching in Denver and Sugar Land until his children were selected
to join travel teams. He definitely made a positive impact on his own children and
numerous others, always stressing fair play, good citizenship, and academics.
Tim was a huge supporter of all things Houston. He loved and supported all the
professional sports teams, especially the Texans where he was an original season
ticket holder.

Tim also supported many Houston area charities, fine arts programs, and
museums around the city. Tim was a great supporter of the University of Texas,
where he received an award in 2002 for his many years of contributions to their
business program. Most importantly, Tim was a generous and creative man, who
adored his family, and was held in the highest esteem by his colleagues.
He will be greatly missed by those who loved him, and by those whose lives he
touched.

     Tim is survived by his wife of forty-five years, Margaret Tobin "Monie" Cox;
his three children, Jeffrey T. Cox, Cassandra Cox McBryde, and Christopher P.
Cox and his wife Hillary Voyer Cox; brother, Joseph Winston Cox; sisters, Mary
Cox and her husband Arthur, and Elizabeth Cox LaPlante and her husband Steve;
