JOSEPH EDGAR ROBERT (Age 81)
On Wednesday, January 11, 2012, of Ocean Pines, MD. Born in Washington, D.C., he was the son of
the late Joseph Aloysius Robert and Loretta McClellan Robert Swift. Beloved husband of Barbara Hetler
Robert. Along with his wife he is survived by his children, Janice E. Robert, Christine E. Robert and her
husband Harold Lynn, Thomas P. Robert, Cynthia Robert-Clark and her husband Nathan and a step-daughter,
Allison Groff Olmsted and her husband Sean. He was preceded in death by his son Joseph E. Robert, Jr.
Mr. Robert was a United States Navy Veteran. He had been the owner and operator of J. Robert Co. Inc.,
a real estate, marketing and development company in Bethesda, Maryland. Prior to that he was employed by
Boise Cascade as a Director of Project Development.
Also surviving are eight grandchildren, Thomas Robert, Jr., Joseph Robert, III, Jeffrey Robert, Jon Robert,
Travis Robert-Ritter, Alexander Lynn, Luke Robert and Colleen Clark; and one great grandchild, Jazmyn
Robert. In addition, he is survived by three step-grandchildren, Abigale Olmsted, Charles Olmsted and Henry
Olmsted. He is also survived by his former wife, Aimee Lou Robert of Silver Spring, MD. He was preceded in
death by a sister, Ann Crumrine.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Friday, January 20, 2012 at 11 a.m. at the Shrine of the
Most Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 3630 Quesada St., NW, Washington, DC 20015. Reverend
Monsignor John Enzler will preside. Reception immediately following at the church. In lieu of flowers,
donations may be made to Fight for Children, 1726 M St. NW #202, Washington, DC 20036 or online at
www.fightforchildren.org. Arrangements are being handled by the Burbage Funeral Home in Berlin, MD.
