John P. Martin

John P. Martin, 63, who taught history and English at Fairmont Heights High School in Prince George's County for 10 years until retiring in 2001, died of cancer Feb. 6 at Holy Cross Hospital. He lived in Silver Spring. He was born in Washington and graduated from  St. John's College High School. He received a bachelor's degree in special education from the University of Maryland.
He served three years in the Marine Corps and served a tour of duty in Vietnam. He delivered mail for the Postal Service before becoming a teacher.
Survivors include a sister.
