| John J. Lapp, 59, owner of Lapp's Stop Shop, a brake-repair business in Frederick, died of cancer May 12 at his home in Poolesville. | |||
| Mr. Lapp was born in Washington, grew up in Bethesda and graduated from St. John's College High School in 1964. He attended the University of Maryland. From the 1960s until 1989, he worked for the family brake-repair business, Lapp Brothers, in Rockville. He had operated his own business in Frederick since 1989. He was a member of Our Lady of the Presentation Catholic Church in Poolesville. His hobbies including hiking, running, bicycling and weight lifting. His marriage to Maureen Helm ended in divorce. Survivors include his wife of seven years, Linda LeBlanc of Poolesville; two sons from his first marriage, Joseph T. Lapp of Austin and John G. Lapp of Perry Hall, Md.; his mother, Lillian Lapp of Walkersville, Md.; three sisters, Ann Whitmore of Cottonwood, Calif., Catherine Mobley of Walkersville and Theresa Pusateri of Germantown; and a brother, Thomas Lapp of Cape Coral, Fla. |
