Arthur D. McKey

Arthur D. McKey, 60, a lawyer who specialized in media and insurance law and worked in general practice for the past 14 years with
the D.C. firm of Hanson & Molloy, died Sept. 3 at Southern Maryland Hospital Center in Clinton after a stroke. He was a Washington
resident.

Mr. McKey's areas of practice included Internet litigation and governance, intellectual property, communications law, and real estate
and employment law.

Arthur Duncan McKey was born in the District and graduated from
St. John's College High School in 1966. He received a
bachelor's degree from Boston College in 1970 and a master's degree in political science in 1972 from the University of Maryland.
He was a 1978 graduate of the University of Idaho law school.

From 1978 to 1991, Mr. McKey worked for the Washington firm of Hanson, O'Brien, Birney & Butler. He next spent several years
working for the international law firm Whitman & Ransom (now Whitman, Breed, Abbott & Morgan) and the antitrust division of the
Justice Department.

He was a member of the Catholic Shrine of the Most Blessed Sacrament in Washington. He helped found and then served as
general counsel of the Children's Inn at the National Institutes of Health, a residence facility for the families of children being treated
for cancer and other serious diseases. His other memberships included the Army and Navy Club in the District.

His hobbies included sailing and participating in yacht races.

His marriage to Ruth Hubbell McKey ended in divorce.

Survivors include a son, Richard McKey of Chevy Chase; a brother, William McKey of Arlington County; and a sister, Mary McGerald
of San Diego.
