ZOE ELAINE COWLING JOHNSON Zoe Elaine Cowling Johnson, 77, of
Lusby, MD formerly of Silver Spring, MD passed away peacefully at her
residence on February 27, 2010.
She was born on September 6, 1932 in Kingsville, TX to the late Verna Woodall
Cowling and James Kelley Cowling.
She married Leo Delbert Johnson on October 12, 1972 in Kensington, MD and
he preceded her in death on October 13, 1992.
Zoe graduated from Roosevelt High School in Washington DC, in 1949 and
went on to attend George Washington University in Washington, DC graduating
in 1951.
She moved in 1976 from Montgomery County to St. Mary''s County and settled
in Calvert County.
She was an Accountant for East-West Lincoln / Mercury for over 15 years
retiring in 1977.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and sister, Faith Cowling
Reid. Zoe is survived by her children, Leslie Frost of Howden, Tasmania,
Australia, Susan Bologna of Westminster, MD, Robert Houghton, Jr. of Las
Flores, CA, James Houghton of Sarasota, FL, and David Houghton of Lusby,
MD and 10 grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, March 4,
2010 at 7 p.m. in the Rausch Funeral Home Chapel, 20 American Lane, Lusby,
MD. Memorial Contributions can be made in Zoe''s memory to Calvert Hospice,
