ROBERT W. DOFFLEMYER (Age 79) Died Thursday, February 25, 2010 at
Atlantic General Hospital in Berlin, MD.
Born in Washington DC, he was the son of the late Ralph Robert Dofflemyer
and Lillian Lauderbach Dofflemyer. He is survived by his wife, Jane Hurley
Dofflemyer; two sons, Charles Dofflemyer of Ocean Pines, MD and James
Doffle-myer of Germantown, MD; and daughter, Laura Dofflemyer Kelty of
Aurora, CO.
He was beloved grandfather to four grandchildren, Meghan, Sara, and Elle
Dofflemyer, and Sean Kelty He was preceded in death by a son, Robert P.
Dofflemyer.
Mr. Dofflemyer graduated from Roosevelt High School in DC, then earned his
Bachelor''s Degree in Education from DC Teacher''s College. He received his
Masters Degree in Education from the University of Maryland. He taught school
and coached varsity basketball, football and baseball in the Montgomery County
School System for many years.
He served in the US Air Force during the Korean War.
He and his wife retired to Ocean Pines in 1987. A Mass of Christian Burial will
be offered on Monday, March 1 at 11 a.m. at St. John Newmann''s Catholic
Church, Racetrack and Beachamp Rd., Ocean Pines. Friends may call one half
hour prior to the service. Reverend Thomas J. Protack will officiate. Donations
in his honor may be made to St. John Newmann Catholic Church, 11211
Racetrack Rd. Berlin, MD 21811 for a tree to be planted in Bob''s memory.
Arrangements are being handled by The Burbage Funeral Home in Berlin.
