Margaret Loomis

Margaret Loomis, 84, a retired office manager with Capital Products, died
Dec. 14 of cancer at Holy Cross Hospital in Silver Spring.

Ms. Loomis was born in the District and graduated from
Roosevelt High
School
in 1944. She graduated from the old Washington School for
Secretaries and in 1947 joined Capital Products, a District-based company
that sold garage doors. She remained at Capital Products until 1985, when
she retired to care for her mother.

She had lived in the District until 1966, when she moved to Silver Spring.
Most recently, she was a resident of Leisure World.

She was a lifelong member of St. Sophia Greek Orthodox Cathedral and its
women's groups and belonged to other Greek organizations, including the
Laconian Society and the Daughters of Penelope. From a young age, she
loved the theater and starred in a number of performances sponsored by
the cathedral.

She formed the reunion committee for her high school class and organized
and planned reunions for many years. Other interests included opera,
traveling and photography. She traveled to Greece many times and stayed
in touch with her extended family there.

Survivors include a sister.
